I am a sailor turned Industrial Design Engineer with a unique perspective on creating innovative, user-centered, and sustainable solutions. I handle complex design problems, balance demands from users, industry, society, and the environment, and make informed decisions. Additionally, my practical experience at sea provides a valuable real-world perspective that comes in handy more often than not. I have a lot of experience and passion for user studies & interaction. In addition, visualization, CAD work and all types of prototyping are strengths of mine.

I am a consultant at Sigma Industry West, and my last assignment was with Husqvarna Construction
As a Project Coordinator at Husqvarna, I oversee new product development projects related to electrified construction equipment. My responsibilities include managing the evolving Bill of Materials, conducting supplier comparisons, and estimating product costs. I also handle material planning for prototype builds and coordinate between various company functions and suppliers to address any issues that arise throughout the product development process. Organization, adaptability, and the ability to independently drive progress have been highlighted as some of my strengths in this role.
Proficiency in Excel is essential for this role, along with strong people skills and the creativity to assemble teams and competencies that can address issues as they arise.
Industrial Design Engineer | IFHAD
March 2022 - Feb 2023
Product development of Biosafety equipment for first-line tuberculosis laboratories in Peru. User studies, data collection, CAM & prototyping with the manufacturer. This project focused specifically on availability of resources and manufacturing, in order to better facilitate implementation in a resource scarce context.
(Performed together with the Lima based NGO `Innovation for Health and Development´ as part of a Master's thesis at Chalmers University of Technology)
Able Seaman | Northern Expeditions
Seasonal 2020 - 2023
Seasonal work aboard R/V KINFISH in Gothenburg and Svalbard. Practical work with hydraulic crane, anchor winches, maintenance, painting, welding, carpentry, line handling & POLAR BEAR spotting. Lots of client interaction. On this vessel, no two days are the same, and the practical work has proved a valuable experience more than once in my design work.
Product Designer | SNIGEL DESIGN

Product development of a lightweight evacuation stretcher for military personnel. I did all types of activities of the design process, from user studies to manufacturing prototypes. The project gave me new experiences especially in user studies & textile product development and manufacturing.

1st Mate, Rigger & Educator | SXK Sail Training
Volunteer since 2016
I sail as first mate onboard the vessels Atlantica, Gratitude & Gratia. The work mainly concerns navigation and safety onboard, and has familiarized me with the use of VHF-Radio, Radar etc. as well as many of the systems onboard such as fuel, sewage, electrical, and powertrain. Additionally I am part of a team of principals responsible for internal education of new crew for our sailing vessels, entailing recruitment, HR, and education of future crew i subject such as material maintenance and warning signs of material failure. During the winter season I work as rigger with any practical work this entails to keep the vessels safe, including welding, machining, wire splicing, carpentry etc.

4-month trainee programme at the department of `Safety Strategies and Requirements´ under R&D. I did empirical crash report and crash test analysis, as well as crash test preparation with tutoring from experienced engineers.
Forestry | Föskeskog
Small-scale business, occasional work throughout all my life
I work within forestry on a small scale in the forests of Värmland. Involving maintaining, planting & felling. The work has familiarized me with chainsaws, clearing saws, and simple hydraulic systems involving hydraulic cranes, arms, steering & winch.

User centered design education entailing user study-methodology, ideation tools, prototyping, various CAD/CAM work including (not limited to): Adobe & Autodesk, Java programming and more. Renowned and unique seaman’s education aboard Danish full-rigger Georg Stage. Teamwork, hardship, and experiences of a lifetime. Welding, machining & workshop education, advanced firefighting, first aid, survival at sea, navigation, radio certificate, etc. You would not believe how often my experiences from this education come into use during my engineering work.
